Joining a Third Party Meeting from a Teams Room
Teams Rooms includes a feature that allows you to attend a Zoom Meeting through the Teams Room interface. Similar to the existing feature built-into Zoom Rooms, you will have a limited experience, but you can at least visually and audibly interact.
Currently Supported Third-parties
Common Use Cases
- You have only a small number of remaining Zoom Meetings in a series (recurring mtg) in a Room and you do not need fully functionality (aka: audio and video will suffice)
- An external host (client, vendor, etc.) scheduled the Zoom Meeting
Important Information
- You can only join a Zoom Meeting in a Teams Room (keep reading below)
- Conversely you can join a Teams Meeting in a Zoom Room. HERE
- You are joining as a participant with audio and video only, sharing/whiteboarding is not possible
Information to have on-hand
- Zoom Meeting ID
- Zoom Meeting Password (if applicable)
Limitations
Developers have implemented features that bridge two different platforms so you can communicate at a basic level.
Joining a Zoom Meeting in a Teams Room
- On the Room's tablet/controller > tap Join with an ID
- Tap Zoom from the options
- Enter the Zoom Meeting ID & (if applicable) Password
