Zoom Phone: Blocking Numbers
There are two ways to block a number in Zoom, the methods are outlined below. Taking action to block numbers is not going to stop all spam but it will certainly help.
Tips:
- Avoid blocking a number that called you once (unless you've answered that call and are positive it was nonsense)
- Don't answer unknown numbers, if they are real and want to talk to you they will leave a voicemail (most of the time)
- If a caller leaves a voicemail, listen to the voicemail to help you decide if the number should be blocked
- If you answer, hang up the moment you think it's a spammer-scammer. Avoid answering any questions with "yes" or "uh-huh"
- If you know the number, and it's being used by a spammer (spoofing), let the real owner of that number know they're being spoofed
- Block carefully, a spoofed number will prevent the legitimate owner of that number from calling you
